I officially hate soccer
That’s it. I am declaring my hatred towards soccer.
Reason: I was watching the French Open all week at my aunt’s place and was disappointed when Rafael Nadal- the world number 1, crashed out early. Mind you, he has never lost a single match in the French Open before. So I turned to support Roger Federer.
Roger Federer is a legend. He was ranked world number 1 for 4 years. He had already won 13 Grand Slam titles, one short of Pete Sampras’ 14 Grand Slam wins. He is no clay court expert, which is why he has never won the French Open before, but he always manages to put up a fight against Rafael, who is a clay court legend. Their matches are always 5 sets over 5 hours.
Okay, back to the reason why I hate soccer now.
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the Iranian shop showing the French Open, so excited as I was, I sat down and ordered a drink, dragging Joachim along with me. Mind you, it was Mas’ birthday that night and I risked ruining it all for her because of that.
I watched some 7 games and Fedex was leading with 2 sets and 5-4 in the last set. He aced Soderling 3 times in a row! He was playing brilliantly. But all of a sudden, they switched the channel to some fucking retarded match between some stupid countries who actually pays to train their players for the most retarded sport ever.
I tried to get the owner to change it back to tennis but he refused. I rushed back to my place hoping to be able to stream the match when my aunt texted me the results.
I literally blew my top off.
It was the French Open Finals. It was legend in the making. Because Federer won that match, he became the 6th person in history to win all four Grand Slam titles, namely, the Wimbledon Open, the French Open, the Australian Open and the US open. He was equal with Pete Sampras’ with 14 Grand Slam titles.
And those idiots, denied me of watching it.
Seriously, fuck you soccer. Soccer fans* can all die and I don’t give a fuck. Curse soccer in the name of everything that is good and actually useful.
